[Mono-devel-list] mono autogen error - distdir is target; expected variable

Hi,

autogen in the mono project errors out with distdir is target; expected 
variable. I looked in Makefile.am and see that distdir is used as a target 
and a variable ao I assume this is ok. Could this have something to do with 
the automake version? The version it uses is 1.4p6.
