[Mono-devel-list] Writing plugins for Firefox

By perusing that perlXPCOM link, I've found on the 'Implementing XPCOM
Components in Perl -- Creating a Perl Component Module' section of
that guide (http://plxpcom.mozdev.org/docs/xpcom-perl.html#d35e246):

" The perl component loader expects to find this subroutine and will
not load the module unless it exists."

Well someone has to write (in C) a 'mono' component loader, basically
a XPCOM wrapper/marshaller to an embedded mono runtime (see
http://www.go-mono.com/embedded-api.html).

We could implement all the COM-Interop things we just stubbed in mono,
to work with XPCOM instead of COM, but that is not such a good idea
(beyond being a BIG thing it signals a step backwards instead of
forward).

The best thing would be to have that XPCOM wrapper being very smart
about all things managed, and have some managed base-classes to help
writing such components with any CLR-language.

Just my two cents,

"Eu poderia suportar, embora não sem dor, que tivessem
ido todos os meus amores, mas enlouqueceria se perdesse
todos os meus amigos!
A alguns deles não procuro, basta-me saber que eles existem.
Esta mera condição me encoraja a seguir em frente pela vida....
mas é delicioso que eu saiba e sinta que os adoro,
embora não declare e não os procure sempre".
Vinicius de Moraes - O "Poetinha"
My bad translation:
"I could survive, not without pain, that all my lovers
would disappear, but would be driven crazy if
I had lost all my friends!
Some I don't even have to reach, I just need to know that they exist.
This mere condition makes me brave enough to go ahead with my life...
but it is sweet that I know and feel that I love them,
even if I don't state it openly and reach for them always."
Vinicius de Moraes - Brazilian Poet
