Can you verify this? Intuitively, it doesn't make sense to me, because
cygwin's environment is provided by a DLL that a process must explicitly
load at startup; non-cygwin programs started from a cygwin shell do not run
within any cygwin context.

Well, that's how I understand it, anyway...
