There was a bug in mono runtime.

Bug is fixed now. Therefore, you should not be facing this problem if
you have the latest code. Could you please make sure that your mono
runtime was built after 2nd Feb 2004?
You might want to try some newer daily build available from
http://go-mono.com/daily/
