[Mono-devel-list] MONO_PATH not recognized?

I'm having problems making Mono find a dll with Win XP.
It seems that, no matter what I set MONO_PATH to, the
dll isn't found at run time. To get it to be found, I have
to either add the dll to the Windows GAC, or copy the dll
into the directory where the pogram lives.

Is there a bug in the way assemblies are located under Windows?
