Peter, great job. This is EXTREMELY interesting. A build system has
never looked so interesting.

Any chance we can get this on CVS?

Also, just some quick comments:
      * You should use a non-cryptographic checksum (try the zip lib
        ones). They will be many times faster.
      * Though I love the non-traditional `throw out instructions for
        targets' I think a fact of life is that you will sometimes need
        to customize, eg to run tests. Maybe a system has to be added
        for inline scripts...
