[Mono-devel-list] Some legal concerns...

Parts of my answer are in the FAQ already. Mostly the part about how
.NET compatibility isn't essential, and that patents can't stop us from
developing the JIT/runtime, and developing & using wrapper libraries and
new libraries that fall outside of .NET.

The long (rantish?) sections about time travel, Microsoft's lawsuit
behavior, and the rest of the world's views on patents are not in the
FAQ (IIRC). I'm not sure they should be, either, though it would be
wise to keep track of any patent legislation occurring in your country,
so that the USA patent insanity doesn't spread.

As for the replies, there was only one private reply, by Tom Shelton,
and he sent an improved version to the list already.
