Today's preview of "Stinger" delivers tools that enable programmers to:

- Use the DB2 add-ins integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003
and Rational XDE Developer visual data modeling tools to more intuitively
design applications and databases

- Build high performing .NET Framework-based applications by exploiting
the native DB2 .NET Data Provider, strengthening the .NET connection
between databases and applications

- Take advantage of programmers' Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET skills
to build both client and DB2 server-side application logic using these
programming languages. This is delivered through DB2's ability to host the
Microsoft Common Language Runtime (CLR)

- Take advantage of DB2's native stored procedure capability by developing
on the Windows
platform and deploying across all supported DB2 platforms
