Ok, in my local mono source tree, i believe i've fixed the application.run()
issue, and i've even re-ran the unit tests and there are no additional
failure..  So, as the subject is reported, that problem is "fixed" in my local
copy: Idle is only being delivered to one thread, not all of them.

But this sample code is still hanging where it doesn't hang on the microsoft
platform (at least i don't think it does).  Before committing my changes, i'm
going to see if i can figure out why it freezes.
