The problem is in configure/compile Mono 2.10 from source.  

You can use this ISO to install Debian 6.0 / kFreeBSD:
http://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/kfreebsd-amd64/20110131-00:10/netboot/mini.iso

uname -O

Result is: GNU/kFreeBSD
