Fails with error that "Pthreads not supported by the GC on this platform"

Source is from git from 4 Feb 2011 (Mono 2.10)

System is AMD 64 3200, 1 GB RAM using debian kfreebsd amd64 net-install ISO
build from 2-3 Feb 2011.

If I disable GC then it creates a make file successfully. But mono can not work
without GC. 

The configure script should be changed to fix this problem not only on FreeBSD,
but also on Debian kFreeBSD I suppose.

Expected Results:  
create make file
