Hey Miguel,

I commited this patch only to trunk, since I wanted to make sure there wasn't
any side effect.

I made the change in io-layer to try to take advantage of IOMAP, instead of do
so in the upper layer. So based on your comment, I guess the correct way to
proceeed is to revert the change?
