I made a fix in svn (r150356), but without the "_inner_" change. not sure if
your naming "_inner_" is sort of "must" for compatibility. If it is, it is easy
to include that change.

The fix also gives "return default(X);" instead of "return null" for
IXmlSerializable, so the other issue was also fixed.
