In reply to comment #8, part of the problem was that mcs/tools/sqlmetal wasn't
distributing the Test/* files (oops).

This is fixed in trunk (r149023) and the mono-2-6 branch (r149024):

    * Makefile: Ensure that Test/* files are distributed (so that 
      'make check' works on tarball builds).  Partial fix for #564987.
