This is now fixed in mono-2-4-0, mono-2-4 and HEAD.

This wasn't a regression. It just happened that a change in XSP made the bug
surface.

All those Thread.Abort that you saw were caused by the ASP.NET appdomain in
which the application runs being unloaded! The unload was triggered by a bug in
InotifyWatcher.
