OK, once I enabled SMP on SLES 10sp2 x86_64 mono-2.4rc2 (mono-x-2.4rc2), I was
able to recreate this error.  It does need to be an smp system.

I get the following output on the web browser:

   System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted
     at System.Web.HttpApplication+<Pipeline>c__Iterator2.MoveNext () [0x00000] 
     at System.Web.HttpApplication.Tick () [0x00000] 


And this in the console where the app was started:

   Error: Thread was being aborted
