Bojan, could you try Darklooks? I don't have the problem with Dark Room or
Dust, only with Darklooks. Unlike these two, Darklooks has a dark window (not
panel) background.

Another theme that gives this problem is "High Contrast Inverse": the
background changes to dark blue making it hard to read blue links.
