I agree with Daniel that this is a soft-dependency, and that it might be OK to
just fail on those situations.    I am having trouble thinking of someone that
uses the OleDb APIs, most people just use the real providers.

If there is an Odbc API that we could use on Unix, it would be nice to just
switch to use that instead.
