We cannot provide a specific patch for this issue unless we can duplicate it. 

Mono 1.2.2 was released on December 4th, 2006. The number of changes between
this version and 1.9 is huge as is the number of components involved to make a
SSL connection.

Is the server used by the original test code still available for testing ?
(inside the VPN I guess ?)
