I think I've managed to reproduce the "issue" using a standalone app (without
XSP/ASP.NET)... but, it appears as if our behavior with r107080 matches that of
MS.

Did the app in question work without miguel's workaround? Does it work on
MS.NET (without modifications) ?

I'll attach my standalone app later, once I've cleaned it up a little (and
added a Makefile).
