@Robert:  :-)  I see now that for Mono/.NET one can't follow the bugzilla
severity descriptions literally -- since all errors are signalled with
exceptions even the simplest error could result in "crash" aka 'unexpected
exit'.  I'll be more sparing with high levels in the future.
