Could you try running your program with "truss" and attaching the output file
from truss on Solaris when you get this error?

I can make the exception go away, but it would leave the terminal on a broken
state. 

Also, this happens at startup, am not sure that this happens when you press
C-c, this happens when you initialize your application instead.
