 hm, I'm confused.  Are you running the app in vmware on a windows
 machine (with RHEL as the guest OS) and pasting from a windows app
 into the mono app?  Or pasting from an X11 application to the mono
 winforms app within the vmware instance?

+line numbers?  there are a few casts in that method.
