[Gtk-sharp-list] Ignore window effects

I made a video so that everyone can see what I'm talking about. See this

At the beginning and at the end you can see the annoying flashes as I
transition from the desktop to my window and back again using hide() and
show(). If anyone can help me on how to avoid this I would greatly
appreciate it.
