[Gtk-sharp-list] Ignore window effects

I am trying to simulate window compositing by having a fullscreen window show
a screenshot of my desktop. The problem which I'm having is when I show the
window, its creation is noticeable. What I mean is the window like expands
rather than just immediately occupying the full screen. Also, when I hide
the window, the screen seems to flash. I would like to be able to show and
hide my window without these effects so that what I render on top of the
screenshot doesn't seem so fake. I don't believe that my OS (ubuntu 9.10) is
causing these effects, but it is possible I suppose. Has anyone come across
anything like this before? Is this possible? Thank you.
