    Hmm, hold up a sec, maybe it's not a refcount thing -- I didn't test it
    with a virgin Gtk#, but your example does not crash with the hacked up
    version I'm using.  Try setting GC_DONT_GC=1 in the env and then run
    your app -- see if it crashes then.
