OK... I've gotten Mono and Gtk# working on Mandrake 8.2.
I've wrote simple C# programs (using Gtk#), compiled them
successfully, and ran them.

However, I still have one more problem. I want to use the
Gtk.HTML class. So,... I wrote a sample program to do this.
I was able to compile the program. However, when I run it,
I get the an error message, over and over and over again...

** (Blah.exe:7047): WARNING **: Failed to load library
libgtkhtml-3.0.so (gtkhtml-3.0): libgtkhtml-3.0.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory

After this, I get 4 more lines that say:

Unhandled Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not
set to an instance of an object
in <0x00025> 06 Gtk.HTML:gtk_html_new_from_string (string,int)
in <0x00049> 00 Gtk.HTML:.ctor (string,int)
in <0x00050> 00 .MainClass:Main ()

Does that error mean that I have the wrong version of gtkhtml on
my system??? Or what?

See ya
