[Group-leaders] Welcome and Intros

Hello from Nashville!

My name is Ben Henderson (@ben_henderson). I co-host the Nashville Xamarin
Meetup <http://www.meetup.com/Nashville-Xamarin-Mobile-C-User-Group/> with
Thomas Bernstein.

We started the group in March to foster the Xamarin developer community in
Nashville after our companies invested in Xamarin at the beginning of the
year. Xamarin is the tool-of-choice for my consulting company, Firefly
Logic<http://fireflylogic.com/> (@FireflyLogic),
for native mobile development. Thomas' startup,
OverDog<http://www.gameonoverdog.com/>,
uses Xamarin for their iOS and Android apps.

The group attracts about 10-12 developers per meeting with a total
membership just north of 50. Our meetings are pretty relaxed with two or
three presentations from group members, plus news and application demos.
Recent topics include: intro to Xamarin, intro cross platform, intro to
MvvmCross, and intro to iOS bindings (can you see a pattern? this stuff is
new to us).

As a result of Hack 4 Change <http://hackforchange.org/>, we're beginning a
group project to develop iOS and Android apps for Peace Corps Thailand
(info<http://www.rhok.org/problems/realtrack-app>).
We hope the project will be a "win-win"; helping the Peace Corps and
providing us with a real-world problem to hack on and practice the
techniques we're learning at our meetings.

It's great to be associated with all of you. I look forward to sharing
ideas and learning some tricks.
