[MonoTouch] Creating a custom control

I am investigating building a custom control for a few of my mono-touch
iPhone apps, which would be built in objective-c.
I am wondering, how do I get monodevelop to identify and locate the
correct managed C# classes to use when generating the outlets in my
controller code-behind?
What do I need to do to integrate the managed classes that represent my
obj-c control into monodevelop/monotouch?
