[mono-android] Any luck with x86 emulator on AMD processor?

Has anyone successfully used the accelerated x86 emulator with an AMD
processor?  I've seen a few references that imply it should work, but when I
get to the point IntelHaxm.exe I get an errror message indicating VT is not
present.  That is true, since AMD uses a different virtualization technology
(AMD-V).

I can run an x86 Android image in VirtualBox without a problem, but would
prefer to use the SDK emulator.
