[mono-android] number formatting according to locale

Hi there, 

What is the correct way to format numbers according to locale. i.e. 1000
becomes 1,000 or 1.000 depending on the phones location.

Can I use the standard dotnet locales (CurrentCulture etc) or are there some
monodroid ones which are more appropriate.
