[mono-android] HelloWorld works only while debugging

I am creating a new MonoDroid project (preview 14) and simply running it as
is. It works fine- though slowly- when debugging. But if I exit the app,
stop debugging from VS, and run the app again, this time directly from the
phone, it does not work. The Hello World activity comes up, but no button.
The back button is unresponsive. I tried this without a shared runtime and
had the same problem. My phone is a Verizon Droid X. Any ideas?
