[mono-android] A deployment error in the current monodroid build

Does anyone know what would be the best substitute for this?  I have not reviewed the intention of this code, it is merely part of the code that I am porting over from a source game engine written in java.  

Any pointers or links are most welcome. =)

The problem is that Mono for Android's AsyncTask is incredibly broken and unusable. Don't use it.

This is unlikely to be fixed for 1.0.
