[MonoDevelop] Custom command soft debugger broken in 5.9+

We were attempting to upgrade from our previous version of MonoDevelop/Xamarin Studio to the lastest 5.10 version, but the application no longer stops at breakpoints when using the custom command soft debugger. It appears that 5.8 was the last version in which this actually worked. Can someone shed some light as to where to start looking to get this fixed?
