Hi, I have been told that we are switching away from the current
Linux version of Monodevelop using the Roslyn csc.exe compile because C#
breakpoints are not * hit *.
Could someone please try this experiment and let us know if you set a few
Monodevelop( Ubuntu Linux version) IDE debugging breakpoints in C# managed
code whether they were * hit *.
Here is the experiment: Find, use a stable monodevelop IDE precompiled
binary or source code branch from 3 months ago appproximately as well as a
stable Roslyn csc.exe compiler precompiled binary or source code branch.
Suppose your mcs.exe compiler or mcs bash lauch script is located at
/opt/monodevelop/mono/4.5/bin. if there is a bash script named mcs which
contains the line , exec /opt/monodevelop/mono/4.5/bin/mcs.exe, please
substitute the path for the Roslyn compiler, csc.exe in this line as
follows: exec /opt/monodevelop/mono/4.5/bin/csc.exe . Thank you.
Do we have to wait until mono develop 6 for this?
Could you please tell us when we can get an early preview of monodevelop
6?
Thank you very much.
Frank
