I joined the list just today, so I don't have the reference for the topic I

Jeff said that, the Linux distros package their own MonoDevelop, that's not
the complete truth. WIthout a valid and updated tarball package there will
be no new MonoDevelop package.

Building the package from the Git repository is not an option as a package
maintainer. If I would build the package for my own that would be possible
but not as a released packagae. Would be great if you would provide a
source tarball regularly on the MonoDevelop website that we (package
maintainer of MonoDevelop) can build a package for our distribution.

I have seen that version tags of 5.4, 5.5 and 5.6 exists in the Git
repository. Are they already released or is the actual version?
