I'm not sure that you can.

Does it add the Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc package?  if so, just upgrade the
package.

Also, 5.0.1 is pretty old.  You should probably upgrade, there are packages
available for most OSes.

Please note that MVC5 doesn't work out of the box with the current version
of mono.  You'll need to compile from Source, and the implementation isn't
complete yet (works for some fairly complex scenarios though).
