[MonoDevelop] Making assemblies show in References > Packages window

Hello,

We are working on a Linux package for our framework and would like to show the assemblies in the Edit References > Packages window. So far, we have tried creating a .deb package and installing the assemblies to /usr/lib/OurFolder, and manually registering each assembly with gacutil -i. None of these methods work, so I think we are missing something that we can't find in the existing documentation.
