Greetings,
I am inquiring about evaluating the latest MonoDevelop 4.2 on my Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) amd64 system. I see postings that Ubuntu packages are available for the 4.0 and 4.1 (beta) series. What
is the status of obtaining the same release as is available for Windows and Mac on Ubuntu Linux?
Further, I am looking for a suitable way to develop code which may be run on Windows machines with a suitable .Net run-time installed from my Ubuntu Linux environment. It looks like MonoDevelop would
be suitable for such an endeavor. How does it actually work where the rubber meets the road? How stable / reliable is it verses how much of a prototype state is MonoDevelop in for developing code on
Linux targeting a run-time platform of Windows with .Net run-time?
Blessings,
