[MonoDevelop] Updating MonoDevelop to 3.0.3.5

Good morning,

Please excuse the newbie question. I am both new to the list and OS X development as well. :)

I am trying to update my MonoDevelop to 3.0.3.5 and it currently fails to startup after the upgrade.  If I return back to version 2.8.2 then all is well. I am doing the upgrade so that I can target iOS6 devices.

I understand from a Google search that I need to update my Mono framework as well but cannot find any hints to how and what version to use. 

Any help, hints or links gratefully received.
