[MonoDevelop] After check updates and downloading, at install of updates ERROR !

This is the exact same error I see when trying to use MonoDevelop's built-in
self-update system when running MonoDevelop as root on OS X. Unfortunately
self-update also fails when running MonoDevelop as the administrator user as
well as when running as a regular user, though in those two scenarios it
fails for a different reason. MonoDevelop's self-update feature just plain
doesn't work. :-(
