[MonoDevelop] File order in tabs

All,

I've been using MD for a year plus now and I've grown accustomed to the
seemingly random order it puts files into in the editor. It is not
alphabetical, it is not based on the order they were opened, it does not
group by project. I've never been able to figure how it was placing them.
So, today the curiosity has gotten the better of me, can anyone explain the
order that MD places files into?
