[MonoDevelop] C/C++ Code Completion for OS X

I posted earlier regarding this but have no idea how to actually make this show up as a reply to that thread. After following pointers in a reply email to install a newer version of ctags in PATH, and to check to make sure system tags are parsed, the code completion for C/C++ does not work. Additionally, making a completion list show up explicitly by calling with Ctrl+Space doesn't work. Toggling Completion Mode doesn't seem to make any noticeable change, and the Class Pad remains devoid of any information as I code.

I know that code completion is possible (http://monodevelop.com/documentation/creating_c_and_cpp_projects) and I really am just scratching my head as to why it doesn't work.
