  I'd install it from source. If you install it from the repositories, 
you only get an old version, such as in Ubuntu Lucid.
There's probably a version of the mono C# compiler somewhere in the 
RedHat repositories.
You need to install the VB.net compiler, too, in case you want to 
develop in VB.NET.

You'll find the mono-project on github now.
