[MonoDevelop] edit more than 1 file at a time

Hi all,
Apparently it's not possible to edit or even view more than one C#
file at a time.  I can split an editor window horizontally or
vertically, but then it's still just limited to the single file's
buffer.

Am I missing something?
Are there any add-ons or hacks that will enable multiple file views?

Monodevelop 2.4
