[MonoDevelop] ASP.NET MVC2 on MonoDevelop

I realize this may be premature but is there a way to build an MVC2 project
in MonoDevelop?

I see that MVC2 has been added to mcs trunk.  I built the latest mono and
MonoDevelop and created an MVC project.  I tried changing the
System.Web.Mvc.dll reference to 2.0 but this did not seem to work.  I also
tried making it a 4.0 project, changing the Web.config versions to 4.0, etc. 

I am sure I am just making a mess.  Is there a way to make this work or do I
just need to wait until MonoDevelop has been updated to support MVC2
projects?
