In part it depends upon the license;  but assuming it is OK to subsume
the code I think it is generally OK just to add your name.  Before,
after, whatever;  noone I've worked with would care either way [I
usually just do it alphabetically].

If the code is in an existing project they probably have a coding style
txt file somewhere in their repository that might say something on the
issue.
