[MonoDevelop] Unable to compile gtk solution

I'm on Fedora 12, and have loaded mono, monodevelop and gtk from the
repo :

monodevelop-2.1.0-4.fc12.i686

mono-core-2.4.3.1-1.fc12.i686

gtk-sharp2-2.12.9-1.fc12.i686

When I open up monodevelop and try to create a test solution using the
'gtk solution' template, there is nothing in the 'Target GTK# version'
selector...and if I bypass anyways, an error occurs during template
instantiation and the resultant solution has no GTK assemblies in the
references. The solution will not build, failing on missing ref for gtk.

I have a suspicion that this probably involves some kind of gacutil
work, or maybe setting the MONO_PATH and associated paths...but I'm not
sure how to proceed.
