[MonoDevelop] "using" keyword

Hello,

     My build environment is Kubuntu Linux 9.10. I am getting errors
on references(using) to the MonoDevelop namespaces. Do I have to have
an environment variable enabled or have to have path info in my
.csproj in order for MonoDevelop to find these namespaces?
