[MonoDevelop] debugger question

Hi . i ibuild mondevelop from svn, i want to try the debgger, i create a test  project set a breakpoint startdebugging and nothing. In the menu the step over,step into, step out are disabled, pause and stop are enabled.
Is there a problem on my build or i do not know how to use this debugger.Tjx
